To our beloved Pen Argyl Community and fellow first responders,
First, we at Lookout Fire Company No. 1 wish to express how grateful and appreciative we have been to everyone that has reached out by phone call, email, mail, or social media message in regard to our annual Labor Day Parade. We must say this timeless Slate Belt tradition is one of the highlights of the year for us and we are proud to bring it to you time and time again.
At this time it truly brings us great sadness that due to restrictions put into place by Governor Tom Wolf, Pen Argyl Borough Council, and the denial of a permit from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, that for the FIRST time in 85 years the Lookout Fire Company No. 1 will not be conducting it’s annual Labor Day Parade.
We wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank State Representative Marcia Hahn, State Senator Mario Scavello, and Slate Belt Regional Police Department Chief Jonathon Hoadley for their diligent and dedicated efforts. They worked tirelessly with us to explore and exhaust all avenues to try and make the parade possible.
We thank you all for your continued support and we hope you all continue to remain safe during our current national health crisis.
Sincerely,
Lookout Fire Company No. 1
