Company Hold's Annual Banquet

On Saturday April 10th, The Lookout Fire Company #1 held their annual Company Banquet at Stroudsmoore Country In. The Night was kicked off with a cocktail hour with entertainment provided by the barber shop cortex group off Broadway. Dinner was the severed with a assortment of dishes to everyone’s choice. Once everyone was finished several special guest were recognized by the company for their help over the past year. Some of these guest included both local and state elected officials and individuals who help out with our Labor Day Celebration. Also State Senator Lisa Boscola presented documentation to the company in recognizing our 120 years of service this year to the community.  Next came time for the reorganization of achievements of the company for 2009. It stated with a sort video recapping the highlights and what the company did in 2009. Then Firefighters Al Hendershoot, and Richard Kuster were presented with their 10 year badges, and thanked for their service thus far with the company. Also Firefighter Jack Price was presented with his helmet shield as he will be retiring from active duty this week after serving the company for 14 years. Finally the recipient of the James G. Dietrich Firefighter of the Year award for 2009 was announced. This award named after Mr. Dietrich and his now 55 years of continuous dedication and service to the company, was presented to Mr. Denny Miller. Denny first joined the company in 1986 and has been a dedicated member for the last 24 years. During his time in the company he has served on numerous committees, including two truck committees. Also he has been the company treasure since 1996, the firemen’s relief assoc. Treasure for the past 10 years, the Company’s Chief Engineer since 1988, and is the chairman of the sausage stand for the Labor Day celebration. He is married to his wife Bonnie, the father of two wonderful daughters, Jennifer and Missy, and has one grandchild Noah. Mr. Miller is an employee of Pen Argyl Borough with the Department of Public Works for which he has been with for the past 29 years. Congratulations Denny you deserve it!
