Engine 3212 is a 1987 Ford Grumman 1,250 gallon per minute waterous two stage top mount pump with a 1,000 gallon water tank. It has a five man cab with four Scott SCBA air packs in it. It also has radio controls, portable radio's, flashlights ,and safety vests for the crew.
Upon dispatch Engine 3212 is the second apparatus for all fire related emergencies, and first due for all motor vehicle accidents in our response area. Therefore on engine 3212 there is 1,300 feet of Large Diameter Hose (LDH), two cross lay's of 200 feet each of inch and three quarter hose, and a rear blitz line of 200 feet of three inch hose, and an additional 200 feet of inch and three quarter hose also off the back. All of our hoses on engine 3212 are mounted with TFT nozzles. Along with mounted on top of our pump panel is a TFT monsoon master stream deck gun with a 36 inch rise and a 1,250 gallon per minute out put.
On engine 3212 there is also a 24 foot and 12 foot ladder's, a 6,000 watt generator with two 1,000 watt lights, axes, pike poles and numerous hand tools, hose fittings, two sections of hard suction hose, and everything that is need to allow are crews to help fight the fire.
A new addition to Engine 3212 is our new state of the art TNT rescue and vehicle extrication tools. With these tools it allows the crews on bored to quickly and safely remove a trapped victim. These tools on 3212 consist of a 10,000 PSI 5.5 HP gas pump, a spreader, cutter, mini cutter, two 50 inch rams, and two 50 feet hoses. There is also numerous assortments of cribbing to help stabilize the vehicle, and hand tools such as a window punch, seat belt cutter, rescue axe and several other tools.
As you can tell Engine 3212 is a great piece of apparatus that has severed our community proudly as it has taken the job of playing several roles in our company. While always allowing the crews on bored to get the task at hand done effectively, safely, and quickly. Making sure to help those whom it call upon it wether it be in a fire or motor vehicle rescue.
