Crew Brings Home First Place in East Bangor Firemen's Muster
Sunday, June 21, 2009
-
On Sunday June 21st, six members went and competed in East Bangor Fireman’s Muster  ’09. This event which consisted of five different challenges testing in different fields of the fire field. These five challenges were Rapid Response, Fire Suppression, Barrel Roll, Hose Roll, and Bucket Briade. Each challenge was time and the points were awarded to teams for the place that they finished in. The members of Station 32 had the best times and took first in the Rapid Response, with a time of eight minutes. Fire Suppression with a time of twenty eight seconds , and Hose Roll with a time of one minute and twenty two seconds. In the Barrel Roll Station 32 and Station 30 Second Ward tied with the same time, so to break a tie a tug of war was done with Bangor winning a hard fought battle. Then because of this and the way that the point system worked the members from 32 and 26 Lower Mt Bethel  Sandts Eddy were tied, so once again the members of 32 had to compete in a tug of war for the overall winner of the event. Both sides made a hard fought battle but in the end station 32 came out and won the battle and winning overall for the day. The Members of the winning team  “ The Crew from 32” were Lieutenant Shawn Campanaro, firefighters Ryan Shafer, Mike Marsh, Jordan Hood, Grant Parsons, and Brett Riker. Other local companies that took part in today’s events were Station 22 Tatamy Fire Co., station 26 Lower Mt Bethel Sandts Eddy Fire Co., Station 30 3012 Second Ward, Bangor Fire Dept. and Station 35 Wind Gap Fire Co. All teams fought hard and made the Competition a fun and exciting event. We thank the members of East Bangor fire company for hosting the event and we hope to defend or title next year and hope everyone comes out and takes part in our 3rd annual Firemen’s Challenge on Sunday September 6th at Weona Park, part of our Weekend Labor Day Celebration. Check back in the next few weeks for all the details on the Challenge and all of our Labor Day Weekend Events and activates
